Bringing order back to your home life can be quite difficult. If this sounds like you, don't worry. Here are 7 organizing tips that can help you be more organized in your home life this year.

Your Guide To Being Super Organized This Year

Buy extra wheels for your cleaning supplies

Do you have trouble staying on top of things when it comes to your cleaning supplies? We've all been there (well, probably not you, but we've all been there). That's why we made this handy little list of hacks and tricks to help you out!

Hacks and Tips for Organizing Your Cleaning Supplies:

  1. Buy extra supplies, so you always have more than one. If you're organizing a new kitchen, buy extra dish towels; if you're organizing a bathroom, buy extra rubber gloves; if you're organizing your basement, buy extra toilet paper.
  2. Label your cleaning tools. You can keep track of your sponges by writing the brand name on the sponge with a permanent marker—you'll know exactly which one goes with which bucket or pan. Or write the brand on the sponges themselves so that they don't get mixed up at home.
  3. Use color-coded bins—for example, have one for cleaning liquids and another for cleaning solids (cloths, rags, etc.).
  4. Label the bottom of the containers in which your cleaners are stored. For example, label one container "wet" and another "dry." This will ensure that the cleaners are used properly.

Take advantage of the space under your bed

We're sure you've seen the commercials, but we think they undersell what a good night's sleep can do.

We're not saying that you should go to bed at 8 p.m. every night and wake up with a full-body massage at 5 a.m., but if you do want to take advantage of the space under your bed, here's how:

  1. Deal with clothes that are in the way.
  2. Replace your bed.
  3. Get rid of other stuff like excess furniture or old homework that makes your room look cluttered.
  4. Put important stuff like keys and phones in one place, so you don't have to dig around for them when you're already in bed!
  5. Make your bedroom look like an actual room instead of just being a series of hooks and shelves for random stuff (including clothes).
  6. Consider upgrading to blackout curtains to keep the lights out during those evening reading sessions and afternoon naps!

Fill up a magnetic strip for your makeup brushes

Time for a little organizational inspo? Look no further than the back of your makeup brushes!

Magnetic strips are a fun way to store makeup brushes, but you can use them for anything. Your old-school curling iron? Yep. A stack of utensils? Sure. Your keys and change? Why not!

All you need is a magnetic strip and a little glue to get started. And if you want to keep things really organized, divide up your magnetic strip into sections with painters tape. It's that easy!

Make junk drawer organization a priority

Have you ever found yourself in the middle of a conversation, or lost in the midst of an activity, and thought, "Oh man! I should really organize my junk drawer!"?

"How can I make this junk drawer organization as efficient and effective as possible?"

We all know that there's something to be said for keeping things neat and tidy. But what if there were a way to make your organization an important part of your daily life?

Today we're going to show you how you can make your organizational skills a priority. Let's start with something that makes everything just a little bit easier: the junk drawer.

The first step is to take out some things from the drawer—but we don't mean everything. That would be ridiculous. We want to keep some of the things in the drawer. Just enough so that you won't have to go through it every day and think about whether or not it needs to be thrown out. It's important to leave at least one item in there so you can actually find something when you open the drawer.

Now, let's talk about what goes into our junk drawers. You need two main categories: paperwork and miscellaneous items. Papers like invoices or post-it notes with reminders can stay.

Find a way to properly store all of your beauty tools

You know what they say: A cluttered home is a cluttered mind.

I'm not sure where I first heard it, but I've found it to be true. Maybe it's all the dopamine your brain releases when you start cleaning your place up. That can be pretty euphoric. But the bottom line is: If you want to get shit done, you need to get organized!

And that's why we're here. We're going to help you get your life together. One easy tip at a time. From how to make a to-do list that actually helps you hit your goals, to how to organize products in your bathroom so you never forget your toothbrush again—we've got you covered.

Do they need air holes?

  1. Some people like to do their laundry by color: darks, white, and lights.
  2. Some people are lucky enough to have a convenient laundry room right in their home.
  3. But even if your laundry machine and dryer are in the basement or garage, you can make that space feel more welcoming with a little effort.
  4. Laundry hampers can be an eye sore in a clean, put-together bathroom.
  5. Instead of having a separate hamper for each family member, get one bin and assign everyone a different type of clothing to put in it.
  6. For example, if you have kids, get three bins: one for lights, one for darks, and one for towels & sheets.
  7. Then keep them together or hide them away out of sight when not in use.
  8. When it comes to doing laundry, everyone has their own system. Find what works best for you!

What if they get wet?

  • Often when people decide to start getting organized they think they need to completely reorganize everything. They want to plow through their house room by room and eliminate all of the excess stuff. And while I think purging is a good idea, it can be overwhelming if you try to tackle it all at once. Instead, when you first get started you should focus on systems. Systems are the things that you’re going to use daily or on a monthly basis (we’ll get into the monthly systems later).
  • For example, if your kitchen counters are always cluttered then you need a system for organizing the mail that comes in and putting it where it belongs—without letting it pile up and taking over every inch of space on your counter. The same goes for papers from school that need your attention or items that come in from online purchases. Having a system for each type of paper will help keep your counters clear and prevent clutter from building up again.
  • I suggest starting with the main level of your home or the area that gets used most often by your family. Then go through and look at each room or area and think about what needs to be organized in that space?

**Then, put some red light bulbs in the next two slots.**

**Then, put some blue light bulbs in the next two slots.**

**Then, put some yellow light bulbs in the next two slots.**

Repeat these steps until all of your light bulbs are organized by color in an egg carton.

Hang up all of your wine glasses upside down by their stems

You know how you're always complaining about how little time you have?

Well, we're going to tell you how to fix that problem quickly and easily.

First, make a list of all the tasks you're currently working on. It can be as long as you want it to be, but make sure it's at least 6 tasks long.

Next, pick up an extra wine glass from the kitchen and place it upside down by the stem on your list. Put your pen in it so that if you need a break from your list-making, you can drink some wine and not worry about spilling ink all over yourself. (You'll thank us for this later.)

Now, take a look at your list. Are there any tasks that have been on there for longer than 2 days? If there are, put them back at the bottom of your list.

Finally, pick up another extra wine glass from the kitchen and hang it upside down by its stem on the bottom of your list. You've just mastered time management!
